“To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.”

- Buddha

Though many individuals often turn to massage therapy as a method of relaxation, they are often unaware that massage is also an excellent way to improve overall health and wellbeing. In fact, each type of massage therapy presents its own unique benefits.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue is currently the most popular massage at Haven. The focus of this type of massage therapy is to realign the deeper layers of muscle and tissue. It is often recommended to patients experiencing chronic aches and pains. Deep tissue massage is an effective, and natural, form of treatment for a variety of physical ailments, including: stiff neck, back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage is not only a unique and relaxing experience, but it is also known to ease many health-related issues. Unwind as our massage therapists use their carefully selected blend of aromatic and essential oils to help balance your mind, body, and spirit. With your body at ease, you will notice a decrease in your stress levels, which can ultimately help improve blood pressure, reduce tension, and fight off depression.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is another unique style of massage therapy in which smooth, heated stones are specifically placed onto certain areas of the body. The purpose of the hot stones is to relax the muscles and open your energy pathways. This, in turn, can alleviate stress, release toxins, and relieve pain. Hot stone massage is the perfect pick-me-up to get us through this transition into colder weather.

Prenatal Massage

Not surprisingly, prenatal massage is quickly growing in popularity amongst many of Haven’s clients. This form of massage therapy presents many different benefits for expectant mothers, and can be performed throughout all nine months of pregnancy. Prenatal massage has been known to reduce swelling in the hands, feet, and ankles. It can be used to ease several types of discomfort experienced during pregnancy, including: sore neck, back, and calves, as well as muscle tension and tightening. Prenatal massage can also help relieve the anxiety or depression expectant mothers may feel as their body undergoes many changes. Prenatal massage is an excellent way to keep your mind, body, and baby, healthy.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage is a massage that exclusively targets the shoulders, neck, scalp, and face. The purpose of this massage is to promote relaxation by relieving tension and headaches. Indian head massage is excellent for alleviating stress, removing toxins, and boosting the immune system. Its effectiveness stems from its focus on all energy centers in which tension accumulates.

Infant Massage

Infant massage is another unique form of massage therapy in which our therapist lightly massages your baby to stimulate all the systems of the body. This type of massage therapy can improve digestion, help waste elimination, provide relief for teething pains, and simply relax fussy babies. This in turn can provide relief for mom and dad. Both 15 and 30-â€ minute sessions are available for infant massage at Haven. Infant massage is recommended for parents seeking natural and nurturing methods of providing relief for their baby.
